Rolling a die
Resources to conduct the activity
After rolling many times, we see how the results approach a value which is the probability of obtaining a specific number.
Recipients: From 1st ESO to 4th ESO. Recommended for 2nd ESO.
Duration: 1-2 sessions.
Objectives:
- Data interpretation.
- Analysis of relative frequencies as an introduction to probability.
Didactic content:
- Data collection and organisation.
- Graph interpretation (bar diagram).
- Using Google spreadsheet.
2nd ESO
Rolling two dice (addition)
Working with experiments where elemental events are not equiprobable.
2nd ESO
Experiments with containers
We will attempt to deduce the make-up of containers holding coloured balls.
2nd ESO
Rolling a die
After rolling many times, we see how the results approach a value.
2nd ESO
Rolling a rigged die
After rolling many times, we see how the results approximate a value which is the probability of obtaining a specific number.
2nd ESO
Tossing coins
After tossing a coin many times, we will see that the results approximate the intuitive idea that half of the time we get heads and the other half tails.
2nd ESO
Rolling two dice (subtraction)
Working with experiments where elemental events are not equiprobable.
