Linear Correlation
Exploring and analysing the existence of a linear relationship between two numerical variables from a graphic perspective (dispersion diagram) and an analytical perspective (with the Pearson linear correlation coefficient).
Investigating the existence of a relationship between pairs of numerical variables in real everyday contexts associated with different areas of knowledge.
Researching statistics on Birth and Fertility in Navarre.
Recipients: 4th ESO. 1st Bachillerato.
Duration:
2 class sessions (50-55 minutes per session). Exploration and analysis phase.
- Activities 1 and 2 (1.5 sessions).
- Activity 3 (0.5 sessions).
Note: if the template is built with the students, add one more session.

- Activity 4 (1 session). Only hand out a couple of studies per pair of students. Select context based on the academic pathway.
- Activity 5 (1 session).
Objectives:
- Analysis and interpretation of the type and degree of linear correlation between pairs of numerical variables.
- Finding and obtaining information associated with a real statistical operation from daily life.
